I've spent 30 years leading people and developing high-performing teams all over the globe. My experience has been primarily in the federal government, military, and non-profit worlds but the lessons I've learned are applicable in any organization where people are interacting and trying to get something done.
I'm a father, a husband, and a retired diplomat.
I've been a Nuclear Missile Launch Officer with the U.S. Air Force, a Foreign Service Officer with USAID, and Peace Corps Volunteer.
I've lived and worked in war zones, glittering high-rises, and mud huts.
I'm excited to help people transform their lives, become the leaders that they are capable of being, and find a path that is true to who they are and who they want to be.

I have greatly appreciated my time with James as we've dug deeper into professional development areas where I've knowingly and unknowingly had blind spots. I appreciate James' understanding, patience, and ability to see the forest through the trees!

My Coaching Philosophy
As a life-long leadership nerd, I firmly believe that becoming an effective and even transformational leader is a skill that can be learned. Over 30 years of leading large, diverse teams in the military, federal government, and international environments, I have learned a lot about what works and what doesn't. And now, through the Georgetown Leadership Coaching program, I have found in the ICF coaching methodology a way to help new, mid-career, and experienced managers think through ways to address issues that arise on their leadership journey.
For those who are searching for their first job or experiencing a career change, I bring 20 years of experience as a Director of HR to provide insight into what employers are looking for, how to put your best foot forward, and help you prepare for the next chapter of your professional life.
